I-Michael-BennettThank you, Mandee and here is her review:

“I, Michael Bennett by James Patterson (with Michael Ledwidge)
I have been a Michael Bennett fan since I read the first book in the series, Step on a Crack. Michael is an Irish American with 10 kids (all adopted) and a cantankerous grandfather, Seamus who just happens to be a Catholic priest. He lost his wife to cancer in the first book, so he, his grandfather and their nanny, a native Irish young lady, Mary Catherine, take care of the clan Bennett. On top of his chaotic home life, he is also a Detective with the NYPD.
As the story opens, Michael is working a joint task force with the DEA and FBI to take down a notorious Mexican drug lord, Manuel Perrin. They got a tip that he was coming back into the country to meet one of his associates. It looks like they are finally going to take this guy down. Of course, nothing is as it looks. Disaster strikes with their well laid plans and the chase is on.
In the meantime, Michael takes his scheduled vacation with his kids to the lake house that belongs to the Bennett family. Michael used to vacation with his parents and extended family there when he was a boy. He is excited to re-live old memories and introduce his kids to like outside the big, bad city.
They all pile in a Partridge Family-esque bus and head out. Trouble seems to be following Michael and his family as the vacation encounters tragedy towards it’s beginning. Michael and his family may never be the same.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters and situations are believable yet fulfill the thriller and suspense cards mystery readers crave. I won’t ruin the read for you by giving too much information. My suggestion? Get the book. It’s great and you’ll find the ending is just the beginning… “
