Wacky holidays abound in our culture, so we are taking them as an excuse to read a mystery book. I can hear you saying it – wacky holidays? What are you talking about? Did you know April 7 is No Housework Day? Why not read a mystery instead of doing housework?
Yep, we have bunches of them for you. May 6th is No Diet Day. So, what does that have to do with mystery books you ask. And I answer, tons! Grab your favorite snack food or box of chocolates and curl up with your favorite mystery book. We love any excuse to read mysteries.
June 10th is Iced Tea Day. Can’t you just picture it? A large glass of iced tea sitting next to you, while you lounge on your patio reading your latest mystery book. Are you starting to see a theme running here?
National Junk Food Day, July 21st, the perfect day to grab a Big Mac and fries. Then, of course, settle in for an afternoon or evening of mystery fiction. Shall I go on? But, of course. September 20th is Mud Pack Day. Men, don’t be afraid of this one. While your lady has her mud pack on and reading a mystery, you have all that time to read your own mystery.
Here’s a really easy one for you. August 27th is Just Because Day. We’re sure you can think of something to do Just Because! For us, it’s a mystery book. But, don’t stop there. August 9th is Book Lover’s Day. Since we are mystery book lovers, a good mystery is on tap. Hey, there’s even a second Book Lover’s Day. The first Saturday in November, which happens to be the 3rd this year, and another excuse to read a mystery book.
But, don’t skip Hermit Day on October 29th. Play a hermit and curl up in your favorite armchair with your favorite mystery and read on. January 8th is Bubble Bath Day! I wonder how long a person can stay in the bathtub while reading a mystery book and not come out as a full-fledged prune? Must remember to test it out.
